Creative Vine Bending
Description
In this four (4) hour workshop participants will learn about foraging for vines during nature walks to create decorative door hangers, baskets and yard decorations. Participants will work in groups of three (3) to begin the creation of a single basket and gain hands-on knowledge of the process. Participants will then work individually to create their own nature inspired door hanger. All basketry tools, materials and supplies will be provided; as well as gloves and a hook for your door hanger. It is also suggested that you BYOL (Bring Your Own Lunch) or make plans to purchase a yummy lunch at the Discovery Café. A drawing for a completed basket by our instructor, J. Phillip (Phil) Raley, will take place at the conclusion of the workshop. Registration will close Thursday September 8th.
This workshop will be held in the Violet Classroom at the Virginia Hand Callaway Discovery Center.
Minimum Capacity is 4 participants with a Maximum Capacity of 12 participants.
