Join us for a lively birding adventure through the breathtaking landscapes of Callaway Gardens, led by expert birder and wildlife photographer Linda Souhrada. We'll kick off our excursion with a quick and helpful introduction to the Cornell Lab’s Merlin Bird ID app—your new favorite tool for identifying birds by both sight and sound. Then, it’s time to roll!
Climb aboard a golf cart (provided by us) for a fun, feather-filled ride as we explore the gardens in search of “The Cherry Pickers”—a colorful cast of songbirds who just can’t resist the wild cherry buffet. From the striking Red-headed and Red-bellied Woodpeckers to the vibrant Eastern Bluebirds and other surprise guests, this is your chance to witness nature’s aerial acrobats up close. Don’t forget to bring your binoculars and cameras—photo ops will be everywhere! If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll reschedule so you won’t miss a single chirp.
*We recommend that you download the free Merlin Bird ID app to your phone prior to this workshop.*
